Who are you?
I’m Suzy and I’m CFO at Clear Books. I’m also a qualified accountant but I’m not boring, I promise!
What does your role at Clear Books entail?
My role as CFO includes all financial matters from bookkeeping, preparing our annual financial statements for audit, payroll, VAT returns and credit control to dealing with shareholders, customers and suppliers. I also host training sessions for customers and a monthly ‘Introduction to Bookkeeping’ workshop. More recently I have taken on the role of Team Leader of Clear Books in Latin America, which is a very exciting new project.
In your opinion, what is the best time-saving Clear Books feature?
Ohh there are so many but if I had to choose one it would be the recurring journal feature. As an accountant I love the ability to be able to do all adjustments as soon as an invoice is created so that I know our P&L and Balance Sheet is correct and up to date.
What’s the most exciting thing your team are working on at the moment?
I’m in the Clear Books international team at the moment and we have some very exciting plans to expand Clear Books abroad. I recently visited our team in Spain and I am working on Clear Books expansion into Latin America. Vamos!
What apps and tools can’t you live without and why?
I obviously couldn’t live without the Clear Books app, which is so handy for uploading receipts via the built in camera attachment tool. I am a big fan of Google Drive as it is so useful to be able to access your work from the cloud wherever you are. I’m also a bit of a social media addict so couldn’t live without Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.
When you’re not working at Clear Books, what do you enjoy doing?
When I’m not working I’m normally doing some kind of physical activity, be it swimming, cycling, playing tennis or playing basketball. I am a keen triathlete and regularly take part in triathlons. Also, I love to travel so when I have time off work I like to go on trips to Europe and Latin America.
